How to Eat a Male Blue Crab

Blue Crab [Callinectes Sapidus = Calli(beautiful) + Nectes(swimmer) + Sapidus(savory)]
1. The crab is steamed and coated with bay seasoning
2. Stock the table with chilled long necks
3. Pick a crab and with a knife remove the male organ at the back of the crab
4. With your thumb (careful--this can hurt at times) crack open the crab and remove its gills (never eat the gills!!)
5. You then clean the insides and never ask too many questions if eating for the first time--just do it!!
6. Split the crab open and press it between your thumb & forefinger till you see the white meat
7. Grab that meat and take a swig at that cold beer
8. Relish the taste, lick your fingers to savour the seasoning and go to step 3 above--continue till your stomach is full or you end up hurting your fingers
I enjoyed it!!! If you love seafood, you will love the experience of eating Blue Crabs that are a speciality of the  Chesapeake Bay (Baltimore, MD)
